Beekeeper and his brother discover huge bee nest in garden

A beekeeper has been awarded a gold medal by a beekeeper for finding a hive nest hidden under a car park in a busy shopping centre.

In an episode of Big Brother, Bigbee, who has also appeared on the show as Bigbee-Burt, found the nest on the floor of his car park, which was parked in front of the store he is a part owner of.

The pair also discovered the nest was made from a plastic bag.

“I was really surprised when I came home and opened it up,” said Bigbee.

He told the ABC he had never heard of a hive being used as a vehicle.

Beekeeper says he’s not worried about the safety of the hive and its contents.

His brother, Burt, said the discovery was a big surprise for him.

“[It was] a bit of a shock,” he said.

It’s a good thing it wasn’t something bigger than a normal sized hive, because I wouldn’t be able to open it.

Burt added the hive was only a metre by a metre and the bag was the size of a small bottle.

When Bigbee was trying to open the bag, he said he was unable to do so as he did not have his tongs handy.

Instead he had to use his fingers to press down on the lid, causing it to close.

However, the pair managed to pull the bag out without the bag falling out of the car park.

What do you think?

Do you think Bigbee’s experience will help others find a honeybee nest?
